COTTON BUDS, INC. TO INTRODUCE CHARMIN® TO GO BATHROOM TISSUE AND CHARMIN TO GO® TOILET SEAT COVERS UNDER LICENSE FROM P&G
|
CINCINNATI, Feb. 1, 2002 Procter & Gamble has granted a license to Cotton Buds, Inc. to produce, market and distribute new Charmin To Go® Bathroom Tissue and Charmin To Go® Toilet Seat Covers. P&G will share in revenue and will supply the paper for Charmin To Go® bath tissue.
Charmin To Go® Bathroom Tissue allows consumers to have the comforts of home while on the go. It is a coreless, solid roll of Charmin® bath tissue in a convenient dispenser designed to fit in a purse or pocket, making it ideal for travel, camping, and other "away from home" uses.
Charmin To Go® Toilet Seat Covers offer quick, easy and safe protection when away from home. They are also conveniently packaged and small enough to fit in a purse, backpack, or pocket.
"We all know the bathroom experience away from home is not always the best," says Laston Charriez, Marketing Director for Charmin. "These products give our consumers options when away from home and allow them to experience the Charmin® comfortably clean feeling while on the go."
"We are excited to be working with P&G," says DeWitt Paul, President of Cotton Buds, Inc. "Having the leading brand name in the category and Charmin® quality tissue in our bathroom tissue rolls are terrific assets that link well with our consumer-friendly, away-from-home package formats."
This is the latest in a number of external business agreements struck by P&G. These deals are designed to combine P&GÕs trademark, technology and/or know-how with strong outside companies to deliver mutually positive business results.
Charmin To Go® Bathroom Tissue and Charmin To Go® Toilet Seat Covers will be shipped to retailers in the U.S. beginning in March 2002. Cotton Buds does not set retail prices, but each of these products is expected to retail for around a dollar.
Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) is a $39 billion global leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad range of consumer products. P&G markets more than 250 brands to nearly five billion consumers in 130 countries. The companyÕs family care tissue and towel brands include: Charmin®, Bounty® paper towels and napkins, Bounty® in a Box, Puffs® facial tissues, and Tempo® a new four-ply dry wipe designed to handle lifeÕs on-the-go messes.
